Commencement exercises of Marion High School will be held next Thursday evening. The graduation class this year is a large one, numbering thirty.

The Aulne State Bank closed Friday on account of shortages in the bank’s accounts, occasioned, it is alleged, by defalcations of the cashier, V.O. Johnson. Shortage at the bank is said to be somewhere around eighty thousand dollars.

Sheriff Armstrong brought in two men the last of the week who are thought to be the ones wanted in connection with the murder at Peabody some weeks ago when an oil worker was killed during a crap games.

Miss Etta Mae Suffield was the lucky one last Saturday when the 42-piece dinner set was given away at the Mullen Racket Store on the opening day of their great sale which is still in progress.

Mr. Kelley, entomologist from the State Agricultural College, was here Wednesday and, with the county farm agent, Mr. Ollinger, investigated the Hessian fly situation. Quite an infected district was found in Wilson and Liberty townships.

Did you know Kansas has no law against Sunday base ball? Such is the case. The vote in Marion was two to one in favor of Sunday base ball.
