J.E. Grubb arrived from Holyrood last week to take charge of Cottonwood Valley Mill, which he and others recently leased from the Pierces and which they will run under the name of the Marion Milling Co. He and his family will live in the C.E. Pierce residence.

Advertisement: Bob Florer and Harry Rogers in a black-face skit Tuesday evening at the Auditorium in addition to the regular show. 5 and 10 cents.

A large number of Marion people have been taking in the Wichita fair last week and this.

The many friends of D.W. Munro, who managed the New Elgin Hotel here for some time, hear with great regret of her death, which took place Sept. 27.

Marion High won from Burns on the Marion grounds last Friday afternoon. Pierce and Butler for Marion and Partridge of Burns were the big ground gainers for their respective teams.

C.E. Pierce and family are moving into the Frobenius house on Santa Fe St. west of the Santa Fe track. We are glad to know that the Pierces, who have leased their mill to the Marion Milling Co., are not contemplating leaving Marion.

Captain Northup of the Salvation Army is in town this week making his regular canvass. He has been coming to Marion regularly for 12 years.
