It is expected that trains on the M. & M. will run into Lyons, Rice county, tomorrow. The first of June is the limit of time for them to reach there, but they will have several days to spare.

Last Wednesday was the third anniversary of an interesting event in Marion Centre—the flood.

Will Bates will open his ice cream establishment Saturday. Will knows how to make good ice cream.

We paid Hillsboro a flying visit, last Friday, and found it booming. There are already about fifty houses in the town, and more building.

Brunson & Co., the new firm mentioned in these columns a few weeks ago, has opened a large general stock in the Kellison building.

The ladies of the Presbyterian Society will have a strawberry festival at Rogers Hall. All are invited, and as this will be the first strawberry feast of the season, and for a worthy cause, it will no doubt be largely attended and liberally patronized.
