A brick business building to be made of Marion Centre brick is one of the talked-of enterprises. We hope to see it go up — the building, not the enterprise.

A.E. Case has commenced the erection of a residence on the hill that, when completed, will probably be the finest dwelling in the county. It will be a large, two-story stone structure.

Mrs. Tilson has remodeled her millinery establishment, putting in new shelving, showcases, etc., and now her store is a still more attractive place of resort for the ladies in quest of fixin’s to wear.

Besides innumerable frame houses, five stone buildings are in process of erection and large ones, too. The Stone City is still booming, to use a phrase that you have heard before perhaps.

There was a perfect jam of wagons in town Saturday. It looked like “old business.”

James Brooks has returned to Marion Centre from Illinois. He had been gone several years, and the town had grown so in his absence that he got lost the first day, ’tis said.
