177 graduate from Tabor College

More than 2,000 parents, family and friends gathered Saturday at Wiens Stadium for Tabor College’s 107th Commencement.

Degrees were presented to 114 graduates from the Hillsboro campus and 63 who completed degrees in Wichita or online. Twenty of the graduates received master’s degrees.

“Tabor’s faculty and staff are so pleased with who these individuals have become,” Tabor president Jules Glanzer said. “We’ve seen growth and change and now we watch them go out into the world to share their knowledge and skills with others.”

Among various awards presented at commencement weekend, Tena Loewen of Hillsboro was named one of two recipients of the Larry and Elaine Nikkel Service Award.

Roger Camping, a 1976 graduate who started a 16,000-client auto leasing and sales operation in Arizona and has been instrumental in starting Christian radio stations, gave the commencement address, asking graduates: “Are you prepared for greatness? Is your attitude one of God’s view of your life?”
