Browning-Ferris Industries is interested in purchasing Marion County Landfill, Inc., and using it to solve trash problems for a least a four-county region. The potential positives seemed to outweigh the negatives, at least at first glance, commissioners said.

A board game based on Monopoly, but using Marion businesses and streets, will be sold by Marion Chamber of Commerce this Christmas. A total of 40 businesses are participating in “Marionopoly” it was announced Friday at the regular monthly chamber meeting.

City of Marion commissioners voted Monday to switch long distance telephone service to MCI. The move was made for lower rates and to take advantage of a special incentive offer made by MCI.

Andrew Boekeman, whose father is owner of a Case-IH dealership in Wongan Hills, Western Australia, is in Marion a few days working with Straub International learning more about successful Case-IH dealers.
