2 injured in accident on US-50

A Haysville woman and a Hesston man were both injured Friday when the woman’s car crossed the center line of US-50 and struck the driver’s side of a semi.

Melinda Warren, 38, crossed the center line near Wagon Wheel Rd. Her car struck a Freightliner driven by Steven Heter, 65, Hesston.

Heter was taken by ambulance to Newton Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to emergency services director Travis Parmley.

Warren was taken to Wesley Medical Center by Marion ambulance. Hospital staff said she was treated and released at 10:45 p.m. Friday.

No citations have been issued, as the accident is still being investigated, county sheriff Rob Craft said.
