3rd graders hear about ag
More than 100 third-graders and sponsors from Centre, Goessel, Hillsboro, Marion, and Peabody-Burns schools attended an FFA ag awareness day last week at the county fairgrounds.
Included were more than a dozen 10-minute presentations by FFA members from Goessel, Hillsboro, and Marion about farming, including equipment, safety, and animals.
FFA members from Goessel, Hillsboro, and Marion organized and presented the sessions.
Prairieland Partners and Lang Diesel supplied equipment for the presentations.
Equipment presentations included Samuel Abrahams talking about combines, Grant Evans and Colby Nafziger talking about planters, and Luke Watkins talking about balers.
Livie Claassen talked about rabbits; Belladonna Toy, exotic animals; Sara Groening, poultry; Emma Box and Shannon Taylor, goats; Alana Suderman, cattle; Gracie Mackey and Karlee Fetrow, horses; Ava Vannocker, sheep; and Keitra Edwards, swine.
Ashley Peters and Anslee Brewer talked about veterinary science, Mickelly Soyez and Breanna Mallory, horticulture and gardening; Luke Stucky, poison awareness; Braxton Unruh, all-terrain vehicle safety; and Katy Prieb, ag trivia.
