Mrs. Louis Kaiser and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kaiser, David and Angela, had dinner out Sunday in observance of the 100th year of their farm.
Mary Kaiser, with her two sons, William and J. Henry, came to the United States and Lincolnville in the early 1870s from Himbergen, Germany.
They began homesteading the farm May 15, 1880. It has continued to be in the family since.
Mrs. Don Kelsey of Marion announces the engagement of her daughter, Lori, to Kevin Fruechting, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Fruechting, rural Marion. Their wedding date has been set for Aug. 19.
At a special meeting May 13 in Hillsboro, Republican precinct committeemen and women nominated Marquetta Eilerts of Peabody to fill the post of county clerk vacated last month by the death of Barbara Farley.
Jack Hartman, head basketball coach at Kansas State University, spoke to a crowd of more than 200 May 13 at the Marion schools’ annual athletic awards banquet in the gymnasium. The dinner was sponsored by Marion Kiwanis Club. Gerry Harris was general chairman of the event.
