Happy Hustlers

A total of 23 members, five leaders, and six parents answered roll call by listing their birth month when Happy Hustlers 4-H Club met April 4.

Noah Schmidt reported on a 4-H Council meeting, including discussion about changes to the Marion County Achievement Banquet and about having a different exhibit in the poultry barn in place of poultry exhibits.

“Hooves in the Air at the Marion County Fair” will be the fair theme.

Amy Summervill reported about a Rock Springs Ranch 4-H camp this year and noted that May 1 will be the deadline to add or drop 4-H projects.

A motion to raise money by sponsoring a five kilometer fun run at Chingawassa Days failed because of a lack of volunteers to help early June 4.

Rylee Thomas led members in singing Happy Birthday to members with April birthdays and demonstrated a gymnastics routine she performed for Regional 4-H Day.

Sara Groening spoke about “How to Pick Up Chicks 101” for her poultry project.

Sophia Baxa gave a demonstration on making bath bombs out of orange peels.

Tripp Peterson led a game of Heads Up 7 Up. William Holland led the Pledge of Allegiance. Eli Groening led the 4-H Pledge. Shelby Summervill gave the treasurer’s report. And Ryker Salsbury gave the reporter’s report.

The club’s May 2 meeting will be rescheduled for 7 p.m. May 3 at Marion County Lake hall to avoid a conflict with school events.
