4-Hers kick up their hooves for county fair

This year’s Marion County Fair is themed “Hooves in the Air.”
The fair will run from July 16 to 23.
Projects in 4-H and open classes will be on display.
Special features of the fair will include an 8:30 a.m. July 19 dog show.
Other special events include a 6:30 p.m. July 20 fundraiser meal and music by DJ Aaron Waddell; a 7 p.m. watermelon feed and power pedal contest; and an 8 p.m. Mutton Bustin contest for children ages 6 and younger and a calf scramble for children ages 10 and younger.
On July 21, a bounce house and food trucks will be at the fair.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m. there will be a second round of Mutton Bustin for children ages 6 and younger and calf scramble for children ages 10 and younger.
A livestock project auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. July 22. Lawnmower races will begin at 7 p.m.
July 23 will feature Wet ’N’’ Wild from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a 12:30 p.m. barbecue competition with a people’s choice award to be given. A demolition derby will be at 7 p.m.
