The annual Spring Show, combining a number of attractions into one, was again a big success this year with hundreds of people attending.

Three students — Nancy Groneman, Danny Peterson, and Glenn Shields — received scholastic honors at Centre High School’s graduation. The trio started their education in September, 1953, and attended a one-room school for seven of their 12 years of education, receiving high scholastic honors each year.

The opening home game of the American Legion baseball team will be at 8 p.m. Saturday when they are hosts to perennial rival Emporia.

Vernon Goentzel, Marion, received $50 in Wednesday’s Cash Day drawing. William Carr, Marion, received $5; Carl Cott, Lincolnville, missed $10; William Schimpf, Marion, received $5; and Mrs. Frank A. Franta, Lincolnville, received $10.
