Plans are being completed by the cemetery board for a new entrance to Marion Cemetery. A cut-stone wall will extend on either side of the entrance.

Two cases of polio have been reported in Marion County the past week, bringing to four the total number this year. The most recent is Dean Keller, 5-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alec Keller of Tampa. Charlotte Enns, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Bartel, was taken to a Hutchinson hospital last Wednesday.

Marion’s potent Babe Ruth baseball team of 13- to 15-year-olds wound up a very successful season this week with its season record standing at 15-3.

The New Hope school building was moved Monday to Aulne. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Darrow will remodel the building and use it to house their food store.

Strassburg Baptist Church youths attending Camp Fellowship near Wichita this week are Juanita Kelsey, Jerry Kline, John Kline, Naomi Stenzel, Karen Thole, and Garry Vogel.

One of the worst dust storms in a long time blew through the Morning Star community Saturday evening.

People in that neighborhood report it seemed to be local in nature, lasting nearly 10 minutes, and very much like a tornado with thick, gray clouds rolling along the ground.

Nearby localities had rain, but they had only a few sprinkles.
