Two Hillsboro Middle School wrestlers won first place Saturday at the Lyons Invitational Tournament. All nine eighth-grade Trojan competitors finished fourth place or better in their respective weight classes.

Jakob Hanschu went 2-0 on his side of the 115-pound weight class bracket while Justus Hilliard went 2-0 to win the other bracket. Hanschu is 10-0 on the season.

Cody Craney placed second with a 2-1 record in a 155-pound bracket.

Dallas Jost placed third in a 100-pound bracket with a 3-1 record. Jon Carey finished third in a 110-pound bracket. Levi Mendoza finished third in a 148-pound bracket.

“I am pleased with the progress of these young wrestlers,” coach Scott O’Hare said. “They have proven to be a very hard-working group.”
