The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
U.S. 77 near U.S. 50:
James A. Druse Jr., 55, of 313 N. Walnut St., Marion, was southbound on U.S. 77 near U.S. 50 in a 2005 GM pickup owned by Nowak Construction, of Goddard, at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 13, when a deer ran onto the road and was struck.
340th Road near Upland:
Jessica Lynn Deines, 21, of 3454 Timber Road, Ramona, was westbound on 340th Road near Upland in a 2007 Pontiac passenger car, owned by Jeff Deines, of the same address, at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 15, when she applied the brakes and swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The deer was struck and the Pontiac turned 180 degrees and landed in the south ditch.
330th Road near Indigo:
Sandra Kay Evilsizer, 49, of Salina, was westbound on 330th Road near Indigo in a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 15, when she lost control on loose gravel, went into a north ditch, striking a barbed wire fence. Kimberly Kay Rodgers, 45, of Salina, was a passenger.
North Cedar Street near U.S. 56, Marion:
Lori Jean Wheeler, 38, of 1737 170th Road, Marion, was northbound on North Cedar Street near U.S. 56 in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu at 8:05 a.m. Jan. 16, when a deer entered the roadway and was struck.
Sunflower Road near 180th Road:
Nannette J. Lowry, 55, of 201 Locust St., Marion, was northbound on Sunflower Road near 180th in a 2010 Chevrolet passenger car at 6 p.m. Jan. 16, when a deer ran from a west ditch and was struck. Sarah L. Dye, 25, of 229 S. Lincoln St., Marion, was a passenger.
210th Road near Quail Creek:
Nathan Kelly Bishop, 19, of 1735 210th Road, Marion, was eastbound on 210th Road near Quail Creek in a 2007 Ford pickup owned by Teresa A. Goff, of the same address, at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 16, when a deer came out of a ditch and was struck.
Nighthawk Road near 130th:
Antonella M. Chapman, 52, of 605 N. Walnut St., Peabody, was northbound on Nighthawk Road near 130th in a 2007 Toyota passenger car at 6:15 a.m. Jan. 17, when she lost control on a curve because the roadway was slick. The vehicle entered the north ditch, coming to a stop.
330th Road near Pawnee:
Corissa Michelle Dones, 31, of 103 S. Jefferson St., Lost Springs, was eastbound on 330th Road near Pawnee in a 2006 Hyundai passenger car owned by James F. Benton, of the same address as the driver, at 10:50 a.m. Jan. 19, when she swerved to miss a skunk. The vehicle struck the skunk and the driver lost control of the vehicle, spinning 180 degrees into a north ditch and through a barbed wire fence.
290th Road near Remington:
William R. Turner, 47, of 415 Lombard St., Lincolnville, was eastbound on 290th Road near Remington in a 2001 Ford Focus at 8:53 p.m. Jan. 20, when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck.
40th Road near U.S. 77:
Darla J. Brunner, 45, of 124 E. 40th Road, Burns, was westbound on 40th Road near U.S. 77 in a 2005 Hyundai passenger car at 7 p.m. Jan. 21, when a deer ran from a south ditch and was struck.
