The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
2700 block of 300th Road near Zebulon
Kent Alvin Burden, 47, 2569 300th Road, Lincolnville, was westbound on 300th Road near Zebulon in a 1988 Ford Bronco at 8:20 p.m. May 27, when a swather, driven by Joyce L. Carlson, 86, 2712 300th Road, Lincolnville, entered the road from a driveway. Burden tried to avoid the swather but struck the left side of the swather head.
There were no injuries.
Kanza and 250th roads
A deer was struck at 10:20 p.m. May 27, when Brad A. Putter, 41, 1750 180th Road, Marion, was southbound on Kanza Road near 250th in a 2004 Chevrolet van. The deer came from a west ditch and struck the right side of the vehicle.
The driver was not injured.
U.S. 77 near 110th Road
Antonia Tayna Peralez Stahi 24, Dwight, was northbound on U.S. 77 near 110th Road in a 2001 Nissan passenger car at 1:55 p.m. May 28, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck.
The driver was not injured.
1700 block of 190th Road near Quail Creek
Michael Wayne Bennett, 20, Whitewater, was westbound in the 1700 block of 190th Road near Quail Creek in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup at 6:21 p.m. May 28, when the vehicle’s right front wheel left the roadway and entered a north ditch. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn, coming to rest on its roof.
The driver had possible injuries but was not transported.
U.S. 77 near 20th Road
A 2006 Ford passenger car, driven by Ellen C. Brunner, 71, 106 E. Ninth St., Florence, was slowing down and turning off U.S. 77 onto 20th Road at 8:25 a.m. May 29, when a 1995 GMC pickup, driven by Nathan Wayne Parks, 25, Wichita, struck the back of the car. Law enforcement reported Parks was not paying attention, causing the collision.
No injuries were reported.
U.S. 77 near 170th Road
A deer was struck at 9:12 p.m. May 29, when Mary Jane Grimmett, 61, 414 W. Eighth Street, Florence, was driving a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound on U.S. 77 near 170th Road. A deer was standing in the roadway and the car struck the animal.
The driver was injured but was not transported to a hospital.
