The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
120th Road near Falcon
A 2009 Ford Focus left the roadway on 120th Road near Falcon when the driver, Larinda L. Duerksen, 18, of 302 E. Commercial, Goessel, picked up items from the passenger’s seat, deputies said. The vehicle entered a north ditch and struck a culvert. The accident occurred at 7:45 p.m. May 28. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
100 block of South Roosevelt Street, Marion
Lonell L. Matz, 47, of 214 S. Jefferson, Marion, was backing westbound in an alley between the 100 block of South Freeborn and South Roosevelt streets at 8:10 p.m. May 28, and struck a phone box that belonged to AT&T, located on private property, deputies said. Judy Dannenfelser, 66, 90 Lakeshore Drive, Marion, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Cottonwood Point, Marion Reservoir
An unknown vehicle struck a parked 1999 Pontiac Grand Am owned by Paul Clark, 19, of Newton at 5 p.m. May 29 at a campsite driveway at Cottonwood Point, Marion Reservoir. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
100 W. Grand Avenue near Main Street, Hillsboro
A 1993 Honda Civic, driven by Paula Renee Hayen, 52, of 2126 Alfalfa, Marion, was eastbound on Grand Avenue at 3:55 p.m. June 1, when a 2004 Ford pickup, driven by Lloyd E. Anderson, 47, 517 W. Third, Hillsboro, backed from the south side of the street, striking the right side of the Honda, deputies said. The pickup was registered to Flint Hills RECA, Council Grove.
