These accident reports were released Friday by Marion County law enforcement:

SHERIFF

330th Rd. east of Meridian Rd.

Deputies blamed inattentive driving for a one-car accident in which Sara Crum, 61, of 271 250th Rd., Tampa, drove her 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue into a ditch at 5:50 p.m. Dec. 19. No injuries were reported.

K-15 north of 130th Rd.

A deer jumped in front of a 2013 Kia Rio driven by Ira Hird, 49, of 7003 W., 34th St., Wichita, at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 20.

Passengers in the car included Kathryn Hird, 45, and children Ashley, 15, and Jacob and Alexandra Hird, both 13, all of the same address.

The deer was killed and the car was towed, but no other injuries were reported.

190th Rd. west of Kanza Rd.

Jody Burke, 29, of 108 E. 1st St., Hillsboro, was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital after reporting that he fell asleep and drove his 1996 Ford F-150 into a ditch, striking a culvert, a sign, and a utility pole at 11:15 p.m. Dec. 24.

Deputy Duane McCarty reported that results of tests for drug and alcohol use were pending and that the truck sustained extensive damage and was towed.

US-77 and 5th St. in Florence

Kendra Henry, 39, of 100 W. Jefferson St., Marion, was accused of failing to yield and failing to have liability insurance after a two-vehicle accident involving two Dodge Ram 1500 pickups at 1 p.m. Dec. 25.

McCarty said Henry had stopped her 2007 pickup on 5th St. and pulled into the intersection without seeing a southbound 2008 pickup driven by Wava Ireland, 55, of 103 S. Emporia St., El Dorado.

No injuries were reported. Henry’s pickup was towed, but Ireland was able to drive away.

US-50/77 roundabout in Florence

Drunken driving was blamed for a car-semi accident in the same vicinity just a few hours later, at 7:20 p.m. Dec. 25.

Sgt. Larry Starkey reported that Melissa Demo, 47, of 3340 N. Main St., El Dorado, failed to yield while traveling north on US-77 in her 2000 Volvo C70, clipping a 2014 Freightliner Sprinter that was eastbound on US-50.

Demo was issued citations for allegedly driving under the influence, carrying an open container of alcohol, failing to stop, and driving with a suspended license.

Neither Demo nor the semi driver, Henry Najera, 41, of El Cajon, California, was reported injured. Nor was Najera’s passenger, identified only as Alfonso Rodriguez, age and hometown not listed.

Najera was able to continue driving the semi, owned by CRST Expedited Inc. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Demo’s Volvo was towed, and Demo was booked into Marion County Jail.

120th Rd. west of Alamo Rd.

Caleb Hartman, 25, of 215 E. Skancke St., McPherson, was accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident after he allegedly struck Kevin Manis’s mailbox and rock wall at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 29 with a 2015 Chrysler 200 owned by EAN Holding of Springfield, Missouri.

McCarty’s report blamed the accident on inattentive and reckless or careless driving but contained no information about how Hartman was located. The accident was reported nearly 14 hours after it occurred.

Falcon Rd. north of 120th Rd.

Ruts in the road were blamed for a one-car accident at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 30.

Starkey reported that Eric Schrag, 39, of 1111 Falcon Rd. lost control of his 2006 Ford Explorer, which crashed into a ditch.

No injuries were reported, and Schrag was able to drive off despite damage to the SUV’s front and hood.
