According to accident reports released Friday:

190th Rd. west of Nighthawk Rd.

A 2003 Chevrolet Avalon driven by Travis Schafer, 29, Marion, struck a deer at 6:55 a.m. May 7. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

Sunflower Rd. south of 170th Rd.

A 2008 Ford Explorer driven by Tara Wilhelm, 36, Marion, struck a deer at 6:13 a.m. May 4. The vehicle was drive from the scene.

120th Rd. east of Meridian Rd.

A 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Lanna Roby, 40, Hesston, struck a deer at 9:45 p.m. May 8.The vehicle was driven from the scene.

Nighthawk Rd. south of 120th Rd.

A 2003 Subaru Legacy driven by James Nickel, 56, Peabody, struck a deer at 9:28 p.m. May 7. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

US-50 east of Bluestem Rd.

Donald Adkins, 60, Newton, was westbound on US-50 in a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi at 7:30 p.m. May 7 when he allegedly fell asleep, causing the vehicle to veer across the center line and strike the rear bumper of a 2014 Freightliner Sprinter semi trailer. Sheriff’s deputy Travis Wilson reported the driver of the semi, Sukhwinder Thind, 41, Fresno, California, tried to avoid the accident by steering the truck onto the shoulder. The Kizashi sustained minor damage, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

180th Rd. east of Jade Rd.

A 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 overturned into a ditch on 180th Rd. at 11:28 a.m. May 9. Sheriff’s deputy Derek Fetrow reported the vehicle left more than 400 feet of spin and skid marks on the gravel road leading up to the site of the accident. The driver, Craig Boese, 16, Hillsboro, was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving and driving at a speed greater than reasonable and prudent for conditions. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

US-50 south of 120th Rd.

Mimi Benedick, 54, Manhattan, was attempting a left turn from the west shoulder of US-50 when her 2005 Chrysler Town and Country struck the passenger side rear door of a westbound 2005 Pontiac Montana driven by John Ronel, 54, Medford, Wisconsin, at 11:32 a.m. May 10. Sheriff’s deputy Derek Fetrow reported inattention by Benedick was a contributing factor, but did not issue a citation. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Hillsboro Cove parking area

Jessica Mounts, 38, Cheney, was backing out of a parking stall at 11:30 a.m. May 4 when her 2009 Chevrolet Silverado struck a boat trailer, causing minor damage to the trailer’s left fender.

US-56 west of Alamo Rd.

Julia Gromley, 18, Canton, was westbound in a 2004 Acura TSX at 10:28 p.m. May 13 when she lost control of the vehicle on wet pavement. The vehicle came to rest in the south ditch, suffering damage to the front end. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
