REPORTED
These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-56/77/K-150 roundabout
Two accidents at the same intersection occurred within 8½ hours Feb. 9.
In the first, a trailer pulled by 1997 International semi owned by Robinson Trucking of Florence and driven by Van Galliardt, 55, of Matfield Green overturned while Galliardt was attempting to negotiate the roundabout at 3 p.m.
Deputy Bronson Shipman’s report said Galliardt had been driving too fast, but no citation was issued. The trailer and a Department of Transportation light pole were reported damaged.
In the second accident, Patrick Chuzel, 19, Eastvale, California, drove a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta into a median at 11:31 p.m.
Deputy Aaron Slater’s report said Chuzel had been driving too fast and not noticed the roundabout as he approached.
Neither Chuzel nor passenger Timothy Hart, 19, of Lancaster, California, reported being injuried. The car, owned by William Collie of the same address in Eastvale, did not require a tow.
US-56/77 north of 240th Rd.
Andrew Schreck, 21, Wichita, lost control of his 2009 Ford Fusion on icy pavement and slid into a ditch, striking a culvert, at 10:50 p.m. Feb. 10.
Deputy Doug Dick’s report said Schreck had been driving too fast during freezing rain, but no citation was issued. The vehicle was driven away, and no injuries were reported.

Darius Huggins, 15, rural Ramona, lost control of a 2006 Chevy Equinox and rolled it into a ditch at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
Deputy Mike Ottensmeier’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving. He issued citations alleging that Huggins, who escaped injury, was not wearing a seatbelt and violated his driver’s license restrictions.
The car, owned by Donita Ryff of the same address, suffered extensive body damage and had to be towed.
