These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-56 west of Chisholm Trail Rd.
Carla Monarez, 21, Newton, hit a coyote with her 2016 Hyundai Accent at 12:15 a.m. May 15.
US-77 north of 210th Rd.
Hayleigh Mendoza, 18, Marion, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze when a deer struck the left front corner of the vehicle at 9:05 p.m. Thursday.
hillsboro
Ash St. south of D St.
Brandon Staats, 20, Hillsboro, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix at 10:14 a.m. Thursday when he reportedly discovered a spider crawling on him and became distracted. The Grand Prix went off the west side of the street and struck a mailbox owned by Jost Service. The car was towed.
Ash St. north of D St.
Darren Dundas, 18, Hillsboro, was driving a 1997 Honda Accord that hit the rear of a 2002 Nissan Frontier owned and driven by Don Arnold, 74, Hillsboro, that was stopped at a stop sign on Ash St. The Honda sustained minor damage.
Birch St. south of B St.
Pamela Buller, 64, Hillsboro, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala when she backed out of a driveway and hit a curb, then proceeded north and went over a curb and hit a utility pole at 3:40 p.m. Saturday. Officer Douglas Dick issued a citation for failing to properly report the incident, and indicated medications and overcorrecting were contributing factors.
