Kylie Dillon, 39, was northbound on Sunflower Rd. in a 2017 Buick Envision owned by Susan Swan of North Newton.

Will Alleven, 15, who lives nearby, was southbound in a 1991 John Deere implement, attempting to turn left into a field owned by implement owner Donald Hett.

The driver’s side of the Buick hit a protruding tire of the implement, veered into a ditch and through a fence line, coming to rest on its top in trees and underbrush. The car suffered extensive damage, but Dillon, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped without injury.

Deputy Travis Wilson’s report blamed the accident on improper turning by Alleven but noted that Alleven possessed a valid agricultural license. No citations were issued.
