These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
90th Rd. west of Goldenrod Rd.
John D. Unruh, 57, Newton, hit a deer with his 2015 GMC Yukon at 8 p.m. Sept. 18.
340th Rd. west of Upland Rd.
Bethany L. Hajek, 25, Tampa, hit a hit a deer with her 2017 Toyota Camry at 8:13 a.m. Sept. 22.
K-15 at 330th Rd.
A 2013 Chevrolet C15 driven northbound on K-15 by Michael H. Hatcher, 24, Abilene, collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Larry L. Nickols, 74, Canton, after Nickols moved into the right turn lane before turning left onto 330th Rd. at 5:39 p.m. Sept. 23. Nickols and Trenten L. Bilson, 13, a passenger in his car, were taken by ambulance to Hillsboro Hospital for possible injuries. Both vehicles were towed by Absolute Auto Towing. Deputy Aaron Slater wrote no citations.
Timber Rd. north of 160th Rd.
Donald D. Hokanson, 36, Florence, hit a deer with a 2005 Ford Expedition owned by Tammy D. Hinton, Florence, at 10 a.m. Sept. 23. The Expedition was towed by Auto House Towing. Deputy Kaylan Miles wrote in the report that Hokanson suffered incapacitating injury, but did not write whether Hokanson was taken to a hospital.
US-77 north of 240th Rd.
Brian P. Rohleder, 25, Wichita, hit a deer with a 2008 Ford F-15 owned by EAN Holdings, Wichita, at 9 p.m. Sept. 23. Neither Rohleder nor his passenger, Emilie Liebe, 23, Wichita, reported injury.
Indigo Rd. south of 100th Rd.
Jason T. Priest, 46, Hillsboro, hit a deer with his 2015 Toyota Camry at 7:10 a.m. Sept. 24. The Camry was removed by Auto House Towing.
Remington Rd. south of 290th Rd.
Donald A. Vinduska, 77, Lincolnville, hit a deer with his 2017 Buick Envision at 7 a.m. Sept. 24.
K-15 north of 120th Rd.
Diane E. Jeffrey, 50, Marion, hit a coyote with her 2001 Chevrolet Impala at 4:40 a.m. Sept. 25.
US-56 east of Pawnee Rd.
Bret G. Warren-Windon, 26, Manhattan, hit a deer with his 2007 Ford F-150 at 7:07 a.m. Sept. 27.
Hillsboro
Orchard Dr. south of Western Heights
Melissa L. Thomson, 37, Hillsboro, hit a power pole with her 2012 Honda Odyssey when she looked at her ringing cell phone and the Odyssey veered off the road at 7:12 p.m. Sept. 27. Thomson was taken by private vehicle to Hillsboro Community Hospital and the Odyssey was removed by Absolute Towing.
Peabody
US-50 at Nighthawk Rd.
Eleetra L. Meierhoff, 57, Florence, failed to yield at the intersection of Nighthawk Rd. and US-50 at 2:49 p.m. Sept. 24, driving her 2003 Buick Rendezvous into the path of an oncoming 2006 Chevrolet TBZ driven by Benjamin J. Gatz, 29, Olathe. Aida Zelada, 43, Topeka, then struck the Chevrolet with her 2012 Dodge Journey. Rachel L. Tillotson, 25, Olathe, a passenger in the Chevrolet, was taken to St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, by Peabody ambulance and Gatz was taken to St. Francis by Marion ambulance. No citations were written.
