These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

110th Rd. west of US-50

Jacob A.E. Herrel. 25, rural Hillsboro, rolled a 2005 diesel tractor truck owned by Ag Service of Hillsboro onto its side while trying to turn left onto a rural road at 2:20 p.m. June 11.

Deputy Aaron Christner’s report said Herrel had been traveling too fast, but no citations were issued.

200 block of Lakeshore Dr.

A 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Krystie D. Strong, 34, Marion, rear-ended a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am she had been following after the Pontiac stopped at 5:13 p.m. June 12 on a dirt access road at Marion County Lake.

Deputy Matthew Regier’s report indicated Strong had been following too closely, but no citations were issued.

Regier’s report indicated that the Pontiac’s driver, 16-year-old Kylynn Matthews of the same Marion address, complied with her restricted license by having a licensed adult, 22-year-old Trent Barnett of a different Marion address, riding in the front passenger seat.

Rosyln Kealy, 16, of Peabody was an additional passenger in Kylynn’s Pontiac.

Passengers in Strong’s vehicle included three children — Charleyann Matthews, 14, and Adaline Matthews, 8, of the same Marion address and Brylee Haws, 11, of a different Marion address.

110th Rd. west of Upland Rd.

While reaching for a dropped lighter, Austin D. McKinnis, 33, Florence, drove his 2004 Dodge Durango into a ditch at 5 p.m. June 14.

The sport utility vehicle rolled onto its side and sustained extensive damage but was removed by the owner.

Jayce McKinnis, 12, of the same address was a passenger at the time.

US-77 south of 140th Rd.

Allie R. Vaught, 26, Marion, hit a deer with her 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe at 9:20 p.m. June 15.

290th Rd. west of Upland Rd.

Dillon M. Knepp, 18, rural Lincolnville, hit a deer at 4:08 p.m. June 16 with a 1991 Dodge pickup owned by Matthew Knepp of the same address.

The truck spun around and ended up in a ditch, facing the opposite direction.

HILLSBORO

Oak and D Sts.

Deon S.P. Weeks, 17, Hillsboro, was cited for reckless driving after he fishtailed a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette across D. St., into a road sign, and through a yard at 9:12 p.m. June 15 while accelerating out of a driveway at Hillsboro’s municipal pool.

The Corvette, owned by Michael T. Weeks of the same address, skidded for 78 feet down D St. before running off the road to the left, through a ditch, and into a speed limit sign.

It then continued 77 more feet through the lawn of Thomas D. Koslowsky before ending up in a ditch at the rear of the property.

The pool was closing and children were leaving the area on foot at the time. Officer John Huebert termed the incident one of racing and exhibiting speed.
