These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

K-15 north of 220th Rd.

Danielle N. Gutzmer, 30, Fort Worth, hit a deer at 5:48 p.m. Nov. 22 with her 2013 Kia Sorento.

Matthew Gutzmer, 30, and Lincoln Gutzmer, 2, of the same address were passengers.

The car remained drivable with damage to its left front and left rear.

Indigo Rd. north of 160th Rd.

Dustin B. Dalke, 45, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 23 with his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado.

Emily Dalke, 44, of the same address was a passenger. The pickup sustained front-end damage but remained drivable.

Nighthawk Rd. north of 120th Rd.

Marjorie A. Hufman, 72, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 6:01 p.m. Nov. 23 with her 2023 Ford Maverick, which remained drivable with damage to its front and hood.

60th Rd. east of Old Mill Rd.

Kristi A. Silvernale, 63, Peabody, hit a deer at 6:51 a.m. Nov. 24 with her 2018 Ford Escape, which remained drivable with damage to its front, right, and hood.

US-56 east of K-15

Jerod P. Smith, 32, Wichita, lost control of his westbound 2004 Ford Mustang at 10:20 a.m. Nov. 25 while downshifting on snow-covered roads and slid his car into the rear of a westbound 2015 Chrysler Town and Country owned and driven by Ryan D. Talbot, 31, Milford.

Abigail I. Talbot, 31, and Phillip L. Talbot, 2, of the same address were passengers in the Town and Country, which remained drivable with damage to its left rear.

Smith’s Mustang sustained damage to its front and undercarriage but also remained drivable after it ran off the road to the right.

Deputy Bruce Burke’s report blames the accident on snow and inattentive driving by Smith, but no tickets were issued.

Indigo Rd. east of 110th Rd.

Cameron R. Bailey, 18, Newton, lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe on snow-covered roads at 2:10 p.m. Nov. 25, sliding the truck into a ditch, where it hit a tree.

Hali R. Koehn, 18, Hillsboro, was a passenger.

Deputy Bruce Burke’s report listed the sport-utility vehicle as destroyed with damage to its front, hood, windshield, and undercarriage. It was towed.

Burke blamed the accident on driving too fast for conditions in snow but issued no tickets.

US-56/77/K-150 roundabout

Alexander J. Frank, 26, Kansas City, Kansas, skidded his 2021 Kia Forte into roundabout curbing while attempting to brake on snow-covered roads at 2 p.m. Nov. 27.

Cassandra Voth, 26, of the same address was a passenger.

The car sustained front end and undercarriage damage and was towed.

US-50 east of Maple St., Peabody

Derrick T. Dvorak, 29, Marion, hit a deer at 5 a.m. Thursday with his 2008 Jeep Compass, which sustained damage characterized as disabling to its front, left, hood, undercarriage, and windshield but was removed by the owner.

US-77 north of 210th Rd.

Christopher W. Garr, 56, Lost Springs, hit a deer at 5:30 a.m. Thursday with his 2010 Toyota RAV4, which remained drivable with damage to its left front.

MARION

Dollar General parking lot

While parking at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 28, Erica P. Theissen, 33, Marion, backed a 2005 GMC Sierra owned by Derrick T. Dvorak of the same address into a legally parked 2017 Cadillac XT5 owned by Linda L. Allison of rural Florence.

Raylynn Anne Dvorak, 8, and AdeLynn P. Dvorak, 6, were passengers in the pickup at the time.

Damage to the pickup’s left rear was characterized as minor. The SUV sustained apparently more extensive damage to its left rear but remained drivable.
