These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

290th Rd. west of Limestone Rd.

A westbound 1993 Dodge D150 owned and driven by Jason W. Hall, 37, Tampa, was destroyed when it lost power and braking and caught fire at 4:43 p.m. Aug. 9, according to the lone accident report released Friday by the sheriff’s department.

The fire was extinguished within 25 minutes by Tampa and Durham firefighters. No injuries were reported.

The wreck was blamed on a power train problem.

HILLSBORO

Grand Ave. east of Floral Dr.

Backing out of a driveway at 8:10 p.m. Aug. 12, Zayne J. Haslett, 17, Hillsboro, drove his 2009 Ford F-150 into an unoccupied 2006 Ford Mustang legally parked across the street.

Haslett’s pickup, owned by Jeffrey L. Haslett of the same address, sustained damage characterized as minor to its right rear corner. James D. Moore, 17, Hillsboro, was a passenger in the pickup at the time.

The Mustang, owned by Douglas G. Walles of rural Hillsboro, sustained damage characterized as more significant to its left front fender but remained drivable.

Officer David Funk’s report, released Monday, blames the accident on inattentive driving, but no tickets were listed as being issued.

MARION

Cedar St. south of Sherman St.

A hit-and-run driver damaged the left side, front, and hood of a legally parked 2021 Kia Seltos sometime before 7:30 a.m. Aug. 10, according to an accident report released Monday by Marion police.

The sport-utility vehicle, owned by Sadie L. Grooms of Marion, remained drivable, according to the report.
