AGAPE has banner year, plans in 2011

The annual meeting of All Goessel Area Projects for Elderly senior center was Jan. 19. Norman Schmidt and Bob Unruh will serve on the board. Wilbert Schmidt was thanked for serving and volunteering to help maintain the facility.

Volunteers contributed 1,428 hours in 2010. Also this past year, the senior center served 4,907 meals, 1,271 more than in 2009. The additional meals were attributed to Wednesday programs, pool tournaments, and the Tabor Lunch Bunch. Other church and civic groups are invited to use the Goessel center.

When USD 411 schools are closed because of inclement weather, the center will also be closed.
