Both Hillsboro High School track teams finished third April 19 at Sterling.
Junior Callie Serene led the way for the girls team. She won the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 47.36 seconds. She placed second in the 400 with a time of 1:05.58. She was also part of the second-place 4x400 relay team with Maci Kelsey, Heather Mayfield, and Erika Just, 5:10.77
Sophomore Kelsey placed third in three events: the triple jump with a leap of 29 feet, 9.25 inches, the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.31, and 100 with a time of 13.60.
Sophomore Just finished third in the long jump, 11-9.75, and third in the 800, 3:06.73.
Sophomore Mayfield finished third in the high jump, 4-6.
Freshman Morganne Hamm also placed in multiple events. She placed third in the discus with a throw of 81-6 and fourth in the javelin, 69-5.
Sophomore Mitchell Day was the top scorer for the Trojan boys team. Day won the 100 with a time of 11.33 and the long jump with a leap of 20-5. He also placed third in the 200 with a time of 23.56.
Senior Joel Allen won the 1600, 4:45.43, and the 800, 2:09.26.
Fellow senior Jordan Riggs won the javelin with a throw of 150-9 and placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 12.11.
Sophomore Tyler Proffitt won the pole vault with a jump of 10-0.
Sophomore Aaron Slater placed second in two events: shot put, 41-4, and discus, 92-1.
