Allen Pankratz

Services for Allen W. Pankratz, 94, of Hillsboro, who died March 31 at Hillsboro Community Hospital, will be scheduled at a later date.

He was born Dec. 14, 1925, in rural Marion to Sam and Helena Wall Pankratz.

He married Dorothy Funk May 27, 1952, at Ebenfeld Church, rural Hillsboro. She died in 2009.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Thiessen of Wichita and Krista Heinrichs of Hillsboro; son, Jerel Pankratz of Garnett; brother, Roger Pankratz of Chattanooga, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

A grandson, Cody Pankratz; brothers, Harrison Pankratz and Elmer Pankratz; and sister, Luella Pankratz, died before him.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family will schedule his service when it is safe for the community to gather.

A memorial has been established with Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
