The 38th annual Kansas Shrine Bowl will be July 30 in Hays and will begin with a 2-mile road race and all-star cross-country run at 6:25 p.m.
Recent Hillsboro High School graduate Joel Allen plans to participate in the event.
The all-star cross-country run features approximately 60 of the state’s best runners and is divided into four teams — 15 men and 13 women from the eastern part of the state and 17 men and 15 women from the west.
The Kansas Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Game features the top 68 high school players that graduated in 2011 from the east and west sides of the state. Proceeds from the shrine bowl events support 22 Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. To purchase tickets, call (800) 530-5524.
