Andrew F. Spachek, 79, died Aug. 4 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born Feb. 3, 1932, to Thomas W. and Mary (Neuwirth) Spachek. He grew up in Pilsen, attending the Pilsen School and Lincolnville High School.
During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the U.S. and England.
Retiring after 30 years in the Air Force, he made his home in San Antonio. He married Hazel Thurman, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons Donald, Stephen, David, Joseph, Matthew, and Rodney; his daughter, June; 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of Texas; a sister, Genevieve Steiner of Wichita; and a brother-in-law, John Britain of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers John, Leonard, and Victor; and sisters Almena Rodgers, Gertrude Schimpf, and Lucille Britain.
