Area college students recognized

Several Marion County students have received honors from area colleges.

Tabor College

Tabor College’s spring 2009 semester dean’s list, released Monday, included area students.

Highest honors (3.85 to 4.0)

Seniors — Emily Dick, Richard Johnson, Victor Rogers, and Thomas Van Wart, all of Hillsboro.

Sophomores — Benjamin Heyen, Lauren Just, and Jessica Klose, all of Hillsboro.

Freshman — David Vogel, Hillsboro.

Special — Nancy Rogers, Hillsboro.

High honors (3.70 to 3.849),

Seniors — Daniel Sigley, Hillsboro.

Juniors — Darren Enns, Jessica Kelly, and Kyle Kroeker, all of Hillsboro.

Sophomores — Jason Hett of Marion, and Jenesa Klose, Elissa Richert, Aaron Stepanek, and Michael Suderman, all of Hillsboro.

Honors (3.50 to 3.699),

Seniors — Nicholas Brown, Heather Olson, and Eric Weinbrenner, all of Hillsboro

Juniors — Adam Dirks, Hillsboro.

Sophomores — Ciara Cox and Maria Loewen, both of Hillsboro.

Special — Amber Wiens, Hillsboro.

Michelle Baldwin

Bethel College

Michelle Baldwin, a 1991 graduate of Marion High School, graduated May 23 from Bethel College, North Newton, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Bev Baldwin of Marion and the late Jim Baldwin are her parents.

Kansas State University

Marion High School graduate Briana M. Vogel graduated summa cum laude May 16 with a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design from Kansas State University.

Among those attending were her parents, Doug and Joy Vogel of Marion; sister Alexandra Vogel, brother Matt Hatfield and his fiancé, Christina Lawrence, all of Kansas City; grandparents Chuck and Leona Hatfield of Hays; aunt Susan Dinges of Schoenchen, and Greg Wiles of Manhattan.

Larry and Jane King of Marion attended a reception in her honor after the ceremonies.
