Art Schultz

Former Hillsboro businessman Arthur Wilhelm Schultz, 77, died July 25 at McPherson Care Center.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. The Rev. Tom Mayse will officiate. There will be no visitation.

His body was bequeathed to the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Cremains will be inurned at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.

Born Feb. 7, 1935, in Hillsboro to Julius and Mary (Seitz) Schultz, he graduated from Hillsboro High School, attended Tabor College, and married Judy E. Tipton on Jan. 17, 1960, at First United Methodist Church, McPherson.

They owned and operated City Café, Hill Crest Motel, and Circle S Mobile Home Park in Hillsboro. He also worked for Woolworth’s, Becker Tire, McPherson College, The Cedars, and, most recently, Dillon’s.

His parents and a brother, Harvey, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, of McPherson.

A memorial has been established with McPherson Care Center Employee Fund.
