Goessel High School art students participated April 7 at the Heart of America League Art Festival at Ell-Saline High School, taking eight ribbons, including two for first place, and sweeping the graphic design category.
Winning blue ribbons were Brittney Czarnowsky in black and white photography and Aidan Winblad in graphic design.
Other ribbon winners were Raney Schroeder, graphic design; Jake Smucker, manipulated photography; and Evan Hiebert, graphic design. Merit award winners were Laird Goertzen in printmaking, Andrew DeFreese in graphic design, and Jeff Hall in acrylic painting.
The students’ art will be displayed in the school’s Emil Kym Art Gallery through Monday and will soon be on the district’s Web site, www.usd411.org.
