Art Unrau, 101, died Saturday at his home in Hillsboro. He was born Feb. 15, 1912, to David and Anna (Becker) Unrau in Munich, N.D.

He married Isabelle Claassen on June 12, 1938, in Fairbury, Neb.

He is survived by a son, Paul of Moundridge; three daughters, Phyllis Schroeder of Lakewood, Colo., Elvera Rempel of Hillsboro, and Priscilla Wieneke of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle, in 2005.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. A memorial fund has been established for Union Rescue Mission.
