Attorney could move

County attorney Courtney Boehm is one of seven candidates to fill a judge vacancy in Geary County.

The opening in the 8th Judicial District will be filled when Judge Maritza Segarra retires Jan. 1.

Boehm was selected by a nominating commission, which will interview nominees at 9 a.m. Oct. 29 at Geary County Courthouse, Junction City.

After interviewing candidates, the commission will select three to five nominees and submit their names to the governor, who then has 60 days to choose which one will fill the position.
