Bateman named Kansas outstanding treasurer

County Treasurer Jeannine Bateman has been named the 2009 Betty J. McBride Kansas Outstanding Treasurer.

The award is presented annually by Kansas County Treasurers Association to an active member of the organization for at least four years who serves as a leader in his or her home county and a professional of the highest caliber in the operation of his or her county office.

Bateman has been treasurer since 1994 and has served as district secretary/treasurer, vice president, and president.

She has served the state organization as president, vice president, and secretary, completing four levels of certification classes.

She also has completed 60 certification hours to be classified as a finance officer and finance executive.
