Bethesda promotes Goessel native to CEO

Assistant administrator Sara Hiebert has been named to replace Eric Schrag as chief executive of Bethesda Home in Goessel.

Schrag, who had been CEO since 2012, resigned this summer to return to Bethel College as vice president for institutional advancement.

A Goessel native, Hiebert, who has a degree in social work from Eastern Mennonite University, has been at Bethesda since 2010 and has been assistant administrator since in 2013.

She previously was a case manager for Newton Medical Center and a director of Hospice Care of Kansas.

Her promotion was announced by Bethesda’s board chairman, Karl Brubaker.

“Sara understands the culture and exhibits the spirit and faith focus present here,” Brubaker said. “We look forward to a great era of leadership under Sara.”
