NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Birthdays celebrated with dinner at Koehns

The birthdays of Kyran Wiebe and Tim Koehn were celebrated with a supper at the home of Larry and Wanda Koehn Sept. 21. Attendees were the Travis Koehn, Dalton Wiebe, Leonard Peachy, and Tim Koehn families, Titus and Chelsea Koehn, and Amy Koehn.

The annual Clayton Wiebe family outing Sept. 24 and 25 was at Milford Lake. Attending were Clayton and Betty, the Calvin Wiebe family, the Travis Koehn family, the Nelson Wiebe family, and Loretta Wiebe.

Lola Redger and Lisa Redger went to the annual gathering of the Nightingale family over the Sept. 20 weekend. It was held at Camp Y Shea in the Wichita Mountains near Lawton, Oklahoma. There were 66 who attended, including the Ray Redger family from Newton.

Supper guests Sept. 23 at the home of Aaron and Janessa Herbel were Larry and Wanda Koehn, Amy Koehn, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, and Leonard and Dianne Peachy and family.

Wayne and Lora Lee Wiebe welcomed their twins Sept. 25 at the McPherson Hospital. Myranda Wren weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces while Marstyn Clay weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces. The twins have three brothers. Their grandparents are Clayton and Betty Wiebe of Durham and Ron and Lydia Toews of Heart Valley, Alberta, Canada.

The annual Henry G. Regier family reunion was held Sunday at the Heritage Park in Hesston. The Duerksen families were the hosts. Local attendees included Ron and Dora Unruh and Mark and Barb Unruh and Sarah.

Sandy Wiebe’s dinner guests Saturday evening included Larry and Wanda Koehn, Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Loretta Wiebe, Amy Koehn, Ruth Boehs, and her friend Mattie Suney.

The monthly Senior Citizens of Durham potluck had 12 attendees. Lila Unruh was the hostess, and the program was presented by Gayla Ratzlaff. Gayla talked about her trip to the Grand Canyon.

Memorial services were held Monday at the Morning Star Church for Vera Dirks, 88.

Having dinner Sunday night in the home of Lena Koehn and Margie Jantz, Newton, were Larry and Wanda Koehn, Titus and Chelsea Koehn, and Howard, Iris Eck, and Kara Havilland.
