Forty-four people donated blood April 22 during the American Red Cross Blood Drive at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.
“We can feel proud we did our civic duty and helped to ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in hospitals in many areas,” co-chairman Gladys Funk said. “The need has been real the last several weeks as our nation had two disasters with many injuries.”
She said two new donors contributed.
The next drive will be June 17 at Trinity Mennonite Church.
