Brubacher to be inducted
Former Tabor College coach and alumnus Don Brubacher will be inducted into the Tabor College Athletic Hall of Fame on May 11.
A reception will be held at 4 p.m. at Java Jays, and a silent auction of sports memorabilia will be held in the gym beginning at 4:30 p.m. Dinner and the induction ceremony will be at 5 p.m. in the gym.
Brubacher transferred to Tabor in 1972 and played basketball for two years. His senior year he was named to KCAC All-Conference team.
During his fifth year, Brubacher was a player and coach for the men’s soccer team, and assistant manager for the men’s basketball team.
In 1976, a year after graduating, Brubacher returned to Tabor to coach men’s soccer and women’s basketball. For 25 years he coached the men’s basketball team, 11 years the men’s soccer team, three year the women’s soccer team, and two years the women’s basketball team. He was athletic director from 1999 to 2008.
Brubacher currently resides in Hillsdale, Mich., where he in director of athletics and recreational sports and chairman of sports studies at Hillsdale College.
