Centre hires superintendent
After interviewing several candidates this past week, Centre’s school district’s board Monday selected Larry Geist as its new superintendent. He will start July 1.
Geist will receive a salary of $95,000 plus benefits. He is superintendent of Paradise USD 399 in Natoma and served as school principal for many years.
He and his wife, Linda, have two grown children.
Superintendent Susan Beeson planned to retire at the end of this school year, but has put those plans on hold because ongoing COVID-19 restrictions will make it difficult to visit her grandchildren or travel.
She she would like to stay in the area and is seeking another job in education.
