Chiefs tickets available at deep discount
Sales benefit Hillsboro technology students

The Kansas City Chiefs will have a Technology Student Association Day when they play the Jacksonville Jaguars Oct. 24, and Hillsboro High School TSA is using the opportunity to raise funds.
Tickets to the game are available through TSA for $25. Available tickets are in the upper levels of the Red Select and Touchdown areas of the stadium, around the endzones. Single-game tickets for those areas normally cost $83 and $64, respectively.
For each ticket sold, HHS TSA will receive $10.
“Which is awesome because K.C. is helping us out, big,” sponsor Creigh Bell said.
The fundraising opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time, he said. The school district cut all funding for out-of-state trips for the 2010-11 school year. The 2011 National TSA Conference will be June 21 through 25 in Dallas, Texas.
HHS technology students have returned from the national conference with six top-three trophies from various engineering and design competitions in the past four years, Bell said.
The chapter restricts attendance of the national conference to students competing in events and officers actively involved in conference proceedings.
“Nobody goes just to go,” Bell said.
TSA members are also preparing to clean up their adopted stretch of highway Saturday. The chapter picks up trash along U.S. 56 between Goldenrod and Eagle roads three times each year.
For more information or to order tickets, call Bell at (620) 947-3991 or e-mail him at creigh.bell@usd410.net. He plans to place the order Oct. 1.
