Panzer to close Marion office

Staff writer

County commissioners Monday spoke to Hillsboro chiropractor Kodi Panzer about possibly renting her building to house the county planning and zoning department.

Russell Groves, of Marion County Community Economic Development Corporation, brought Panzer to the commission meeting to facilitate a discussion of the county renting or buying the building to move the planning and zoning commission office into it.

Commissioners are also considering renting office space from St. Luke Hospital for the department.

Panzer, who is closing her Marion satellite office at the end of this month, said her asking price for the building is $60,000, but she’d be willing to negotiate on price.

She told commissioners she could remove medical cabinets and equipment from the building.

Commissioners plan to view the building before making a decision, but will discuss the building more on Monday.

“When I opened the Marion office, it was with the intent of having another doctor who could help share in the responsibilities of seeing patients in both our Marion and Hillsboro facilities,” Panzer said.

Her associate, Kyler Clawson, left earlier this year, and she has not brought in another chiropractor.

“I’m getting married in the fall and am looking forward to spending time with my future husband and settling into married life, so this seems like a good time to close the Marion office,” she said.
