Christmas trees mysteriously appear
Staff writer
Someone has placed decorated pine trees in at least four locations within a radius of five miles of Pilsen.
Each tree is fully decorated and stands along road rights of way.
They can be seen at 290th and Timber Rds., outside the entrance to the Shawmar Oil plant at 240th and Timber Rds., 240th and Remington Rds., and the entrance to St. John Nepomucene Church cemetery.
This is the second year the “mystery Santa” apparently has struck. Locals speculate about the identity of the person or persons, but aren’t willing to name them.
Cemetery manager William Benda said the tree at the church cemetery blew over in strong wind. It has been retrieved, and he is watching to see if it will be repaired and put back.
