Jonathan L. Mangold filed a petition March 25 seeking a writ of habeas corpus. A writ of habeas corpus is a court order that a public official bring an imprisoned person to the court and show a valid reason for his detention. Mangold claims he received ineffective assistance of counsel in two criminal cases that ultimately led to an October 2017 sentence of 30 months in prison. He has earlier filed several appeals, motions to withdraw his plea and dismiss charges, and writs of habeas corpuses.
