Vicki L. Simington filed a petition Dec. 12 against Jeremiah W. Liggett seeking more than $75,000 for injury, disability, pain and suffering, loss of income, medical expenses, and property damage resulting from a Dec. 17, 2017, accident at the intersection of Chisholm Trail Rd. and US-56. Simington claims the vehicle she was riding in was struck from behind by Liggett’s vehicle, causing the trailer attached to her vehicle to eject. She claims Liggett failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to take evasive action to avoid the collision, drove at an unsafe speed, drove inattentively, and failed to operate his vehicle in accordance with traffic regulation.

Martin Toland was ordered Dec. 12 to pay St. Luke Hospital $2,969.80 plus costs and interest for unpaid medical bills.

Edward B. Wercann was ordered Nov. 27 to pay Flint Hills Community Health Center $501 plus costs and interest for unpaid medical bills.
