Classmates tour school
Rosella Suderman was surprised when she saw her high school band uniform hanging on a wall at Hillsboro Middle/High School media center.
Suderman, seven other graduates from the 1960s, and their spouses toured the “new” high school Friday as part of graduates’ return for Hillsboro’s annual all-school reunion and homecoming.
As superintended Clint Corby showed alumni the media center, it was quite a change from the library of their days in school.
“The library?” alumnus Don Goertzen asked.
“Yes,” Corby said. “This is our media center.”
Corby also showed the group a room where some of them had no doubt been sent during their high school days. What was then the principal’s office is now a counselor’s office.
As graduates and spouses walked down a hall, they passed racks of senior photos. Each graduate picked out his or her photo .Corby had to hurry them a bit during their walk down memory lane.
“We’ve got another group coming upon us, so we’re going to get kicked away,” he said.
