Concert to benefit Peabody theater

A Wichita choir will perform songs and stories Saturday in Peabody to raise money for Sunflower Theatre.

Arise Ensemble performs spirituals and stories to spread its message of hope, peace, and good relations.

Founded in 1988 by civil rights leader and former Wichita school board member Jo Brown, the choir sees its mission as promoting multiculturalism and unity through harmony.

Arise will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 212 E. Division St.

Admission is by donation to Sunflower Theater to cover cost of the concert and support theater renovation.
