LaVern and Lisa Litwiller and family arrived Saturday evening and were houseguests of her parents, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks. They will spend a week visiting relatives and friends. They recently returned from spending five years doing mission work in Samara, Russia. They will make their home in Murray, Ky.

On Sunday, the Litwillers, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Health and Bethany, and Ruston and Lydia Dirks were dinner guests of Verna Smith at Hutchinson. There were about 25 other Smith relatives present.

LaVern and Lisa and family were Monday evening supper guests in the Jason Wiebe home.

Bruce and Cheryl, Bethany and Heath, LaVern and Lisa and family, and Ruston and Lydia went to Hillsboro and were supper guests of Melvin and Vera Dirks.

Sunday guests at the home of the Ken Koehns for a catered meal were the Dirks family, Gavin and Donna Lee Johnson of Texhoma, Texas, the Chad Johnson family, and Dan Becker family of Hardinsburg, Ind. The celebration was in honor of Melvin and Vera Dirks’ 60th wedding anniversary which was Sept. 12.

Congratulations to Melvin and Vera Dirks who are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They lived in this community before moving to Lehigh and now live in Hillsboro. Their children are Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Brad and Joyce Dirks, Howard and Charlene Becker, and Gavin and Donna Lee Johnson.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and Janesea returned home Sept. 3 after spending three months in Zimbabwe, Africa, helping with mission work while some others were on furlough. Jana had returned home a few weeks earlier as she had to be back for her teaching job. They said it was good to be back in the States as there was a lot of unrest there.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe and her brother, Junior Koehn of Montezuma, were supper guests of Travis and Sharon Koehn. Junior was an overnight guest of the Wiebes.

Sunday dinner guests of Jarold and Rhonda Koehn were Roy and Nadine Davis and Eileen, Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, and Mitch and Carol Unruh and family.

Sunday dinner guests at the home of Rick and LaVae Koehn were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Teresa Wiebe, Warren and Jane Unruh, and Doug and Starla Koehn.

Sunday dinner guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and Janesea, the school teachers, Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and foster children, Anthony and Beth Wiebe, and Kendall and Susie Wiebe.

Roy and Nadine Davis went to visit Charlotte Wiebe Sunday evening. Richard was away on a business trip to Nebraska.

Those enjoying Sunday supper in the Clayton and Betty Wiebe home were LaVern and Lisa Litwiller and family, Bruce and Cherly Dirks, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and Travis and Sharon Koehn and family.

Marcella Unruh celebrated her birthday Sunday. Gene Unruh picked her up and took her to Salina to eat out with the Galen Unruhs and Gerald Unruhs. The afternoon was spent visiting.

The youth of the Morning Star Church got together Sunday evening at the home of Mark and Kris Wiebe. Ransom and Lillian Wiebe also were guests. Refreshments were served to the group.

Those attending the annual Moundridge Manor picnic supper Friday evening for residents and their families were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Larry and Wanda Koehn, Wendell and Linda Wedel, and Roy and Nadine Davis. It was a perfect evening for an outdoor picnic.
